Resolve is a specialized outpatient practice focusing on substance abuse and the trauma and mental health issues that are often at the root of addictive behaviors. It is our belief that for effective and sustainable resolution these must be treated together. We understand that stabilizing substance abuse does not resolve mental health and stabilizing mental health does not always resolve substance abuse. For that reason, it is important that our clinicians are specialists themselves and are able to take a multi-faceted approach to treating these multi-faceted issues. This requires education, training, and personal work that goes above and beyond what is required for most clinicians.
With specialized staff we are able to offer services based on the needs of the individual. Some people merely require education and early intervention while others might be battling more complex mental health, physical dependency, or an advanced addiction. While able to address substance abuse disorders (SUD), Resolve does not only focus on SUD, we see substance abuse and addictive behaviors as indicators of deeper emotional struggles- an attempt to numb pain or enhance pleasure. Therefore, we have a strong foundation in understanding and treating straightforward or complex mental health issues and unresolved trauma that are often the root causes; one not need to suffer from substance abuse to utilize our services.
We focus the first few sessions on getting know each person, their history, and unique needs, to gather a comprehensive understanding that will guide and inform putting together an individualized treatment plan. It is important for us to take into account the whole person- biological, psychological, social, and spiritual. Additionally, we are acutely aware that we are social beings and do not exist in a vacuum, the systems around each person are highly influential and are just as important to include in the treatment process.
It is our belief that good outcomes are best achieved through skilled clinicians and the right therapeutic fit. This is taken into consideration starting with the first conversation. For more information please contact us.
Extremely effective for populations who struggle with CPTSD, life long trauma, early childhood trauma, attachment disruption, dissociation, and repressed memory. It emphasizes “resourcing” the brain and body allowing it to remember and release the trauma without re-traumatizing the individual.
Heavily researched and backed with peer reviewed studies- found to be especially effective for treating traumas, large or small, stemming from adult or childhood. Especially beneficial for combat, first responder trauma, and adult onset trauma.
Brainspotting is a brain-body technique for healing emotional trauma, anxiety, depression and PTSD. It is based on the premise that where you look correlates with deep seated emotional experiences that are typically unreachable by traditional talk therapy.
While the above mentioned trauma modalities are the top treatment approaches for resolving trauma, it is our philosophy that the modality is only as effective as the practitioner is skilled in it. The best tool in the world would go to waste in the wrong hands. Our clinicians are committed to ongoing education, our own personal work, and comprehensive supervision.
